Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use (hereinafter "Terms") define the conditions for accessing and using the CactusPop game and its associated services, including:

  • Solo play with a global leaderboard
  • Private multiplayer rooms (2 to 4 players)
  • Battle Royale mode (up to 100 players)
  • Player rankings and statistics
  • The website accessible at https://cactuspop.krp.lu

By using the service, you agree to these Terms without reservation. If you do not accept these conditions, please do not use the service.

2. Access to the Service

The service is available free of charge to any user with an internet connection and a compatible device (smartphone, tablet, computer).

The publisher reserves the right to suspend or discontinue the service at any time, without notice, for maintenance, updates, or force majeure.

3. Registration and Identifiers

To use the service, the user must choose:

  • A username (between 1 and 15 alphanumeric characters)
  • A tag in #XXXX format (4 digits)

No account creation (email, password) is required. The username + tag combination serves as the player's identity within the service.

The user is responsible for their choice of username. Offensive, discriminatory, sexual, violent, or infringing usernames are prohibited.

4. Use of the Service

4.1. Usage Rules

The user agrees to:

  • Use the service fairly and in accordance with its intended purpose
  • Not cheat, exploit bugs, or use third-party software
  • Not disrupt the proper functioning of the service
  • Not attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Respect other players in multiplayer mode

4.2. Prohibited Behavior

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Use of automated programs (bots, scripts, macros) to submit scores or play
  • Manipulation of scores or rankings by any means
  • Impersonation of another player
  • Any attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or modify the game's code
  • Denial-of-service attacks (DDoS) or any action aimed at overloading the servers
  • Exploitation of security vulnerabilities (any vulnerability discovered must be reported to the publisher)
  • Spam, flooding, or any abusive behavior in multiplayer mode

5. Multiplayer Mode

5.1. Private Rooms

Private rooms allow 2 to 4 players to compete using a unique room code. The room creator is the host and can start the game when all players are ready. Inactive rooms are automatically deleted after 5 minutes of inactivity.

5.2. Battle Royale

Battle Royale mode brings together up to 100 players in the same game. Matchmaking starts automatically when enough players are in the queue. Points are awarded based on each player's final ranking. Disconnections during a game are handled automatically and the score achieved before disconnection is recorded.

6. Leaderboards and Scores

Submitted scores are recorded in the public leaderboard. The only information visible to other players is the username, tag, and score (or Battle Royale points).

The publisher reserves the right to remove any score that is clearly fraudulent or obtained in violation of these Terms, without notice or compensation.

7. Intellectual Property

All elements of the service (source code, graphics, sounds, gameplay, interface, databases, brands and logos) are the exclusive property of the publisher and are protected by intellectual property law.

The user has no intellectual property rights over these elements. Any unauthorized reproduction, representation, or exploitation constitutes infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

The publisher shall not be held liable for:

  • Temporary service interruptions for maintenance or updates
  • Connection issues related to the user's network
  • Loss of game data due to technical malfunction
  • The behavior of other players in multiplayer mode
  • Indirect damages resulting from the use of the service

The service is provided "as is." The publisher does not guarantee that the service will be error-free or available without interruption.

9. Sanctions

In the event of a breach of these Terms, the publisher reserves the right to take the following actions without notice:

  • Remove fraudulent scores or non-compliant data
  • Temporarily restrict access to the service (suspension)
  • Permanently block access to the service (ban)
  • Pursue legal action in the event of damages

10. Service Availability

The publisher strives to keep the service accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, access may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, updates, or in the event of force majeure (server failure, cyberattack, natural disaster, etc.).

The publisher does not guarantee any level of availability (SLA) and shall not be held liable for service interruptions.

11. Changes to the Terms

The publisher reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on the service. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Users are encouraged to regularly check this page for any updates.

12. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the interpretation or execution of these Terms shall be submitted, after attempting amicable resolution, to the competent French courts.
